Care

The photographs happen at the water. The jewellery should not live there.

Salt and chlorine mark silver. Put pieces on after a swim, not before. Perfume, hairspray and sunscreen go on first. Jewellery last.

Silver

Wipe it with a soft cloth after wearing. If it needs a wash, use lukewarm water, a drop of mild soap, and a soft brush in the links, then dry it straight away. Tarnish is normal on silver that is actually worn. A silver polishing cloth brings the shine back. Skip toothpaste, baking soda, and ultrasonic cleaners unless we have told you a particular piece can take them.

Store pieces apart so harder stones and clasps do not scratch a polished cuff. A soft pouch is enough.

Pearls

Pearls are softer than the metal next to them. Put them on last, take them off first, and wipe them with a soft cloth that is only slightly damp. Do not soak them. Keep them away from perfume and from a hot windowsill.

Beaded strands

The turquoise-coloured strands are fine beads on a thread or wire. Do not stretch them over the hand, and do not swim in them. If a strand feels loose, stop wearing it and write to us before a bead is lost.

If something breaks

Write to us with a photograph. Many of these pieces can be repaired. We would rather see a clasp than have you glue it.
